Dr. Marwa Zaatari is enVerid’s System Performance and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) expert. She is responsible for managing energy and IAQ measurements in commercial buildings for the company’s groundbreaking HVAC Load Reduction (HLR®) solution, which significantly reduces HVAC energy consumption and maintains indoor air quality. She is also responsible for managing customer-site installation and ongoing operations. Dr. Zaatari leverages her extensive knowledge of IAQ, exposure assessment to airborne pollutants, and building energy and environmental management, to assess the performance of the HLR system and develop quantifiable results reports for customers and the industry at large. She also leverages her expertise to develop protocols for IAQ testing in commercial buildings.
A winner of The News' 2017 Top 40 under 40 HVACR award, Dr. Zaatari is often asked to present her research at highly respected industry conferences, including those organized by ASHRAE and the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate. Her research reports have been widely published by industry associations and peer-reviewed publications.
Prior to joining enVerid, Dr. Zaatari was a consultant for Trinity Consultants, where she quantified emissions, prepared toxic release inventory reports, performed air dispersion modelling and prepared air quality permit applications for a variety of industries, including chemical factories, oil and gas production, among others. Previously, she was a graduate research assistant for the Civil & Architectural Department at University of Texas, Austin, TX, where she was responsible for managing a variety of IAQ and ventilation research efforts.
Dr. Zaatari earned a PhD in Architectural and Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in engineering management from The American University of Beirut, Lebanon. She is a member of several ASHRAE Committees and a LEED Committee member.
